Physician
The Marion, Illinois VA Medical Center is currently seeking two (2) full-time board certified/board eligible Physicians to join the Primary Care Service.
This position is located at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Vincennes, IN.
Duties include, but may not be limited to:
o Diagnose, treat and manage a panel of patients.
o Identify acute/non-acute, chronic health problems.
o Use principles of risk management to identify system issues which impact patient care.
o Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests.
o Adhere to clinical practice guidelines for patient chronic diseases.
o Conduct appropriate preventive screens and diagnostic tests.
o Inform Veterans in order to accomplish share-decision making in medical treatment/regimes.
o Provide appropriate disposition of identified health care problems.
o Participate in Primary Care multidisciplinary activities.
o Demonstrate medical expertise in diagnosing and treating multi-symptomatic patients.
o Adhere to local policies, procedures and directives related to timeliness of documentation and encounters for verification of patient visits, findings and medical recommendations in the electronic medical record.
o Provide quality patient care to Veterans.
The incumbent will report to the Chief of Primary Care Service or designee.
